Microwave Instructions

Texmati® White Rice (same for Kasmati® Rice)

1 cup uncooked rice
1 ¾ cups water
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon butter (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a deep, 2qt. covered microwave-safe container. Microwave rice on HIGH (maximum power) for 2 to 5 minutes (just until water comes to boil). Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Remove from microwave and allow to stand covered for 5 to 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork.

Jasmati® Rice (same for Texmati® Light Brown)

1 cup uncooked rice
2 cups water
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon butter (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a deep, 2qt. covered microwave-safe container. Microwave rice on HIGH (maximum power) for 2 to 5 minutes (just until water comes to boil). Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Remove from microwave and allow to stand covered for 5 to 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork.

Texmati® Brown Rice

1 cup uncooked rice
2 ¼ cups water
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon butter (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a deep, 2qt. covered microwave-safe glass container. Microwave your rice on HIGH (maximum power) for 2 to 5 minutes (just until water comes to boil). Reduce setting to 30% power, microwave for 45 minutes or until water is absorbed. Remove from microwave and allow to stand covered for 5 to 10 minutes. Fluff with a fork.

RiceSelect™ Arborio (Risotto) Rice

1 cup uncooked rice
1 tablespoon olive Oil
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
½ cup chopped onion
3 cups chicken or vegetable broth
Salt & pepper to taste (optional)

Combine rice, butter, oil, onion and 3 cups warm broth in a microwave safe round casserole. Cover, microwave on 70% power for about 18-20 minutes or until broth is absorbed and rice is al dente and creamy; stir 3 to 4 times during cooking. Remove from microwave, stir. Additional broth may be added during cooking if desired. Let stand covered 5 minutes.

Royal Blend® (quick cooking)

1 cup uncooked rice
1½ cups water
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon butter (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a deep, 2qt. covered microwave-safe container. Microwave your rice on HIGH (maximum power) for 2 to 5 minutes (just until water comes to boil). Reduce the setting to 50% power, microwave for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork.

Royal Blend® with Red Rice & Beans and Royal Blend® with Lentils

1 cup uncooked rice
1¾ cups water
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon butter (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a deep, 2qt. covered microwave-safe container. Microwave your rice on HIGH (maximum power) for 2 to 5 minutes (just until water comes to boil). Reduce the setting to 50% power, microwave for about 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork.

Whole Grain Royal Blend® Rice ( both whole grain varieties)

1 cup of uncooked rice
2 ¾ cups water
½ teaspoon salt (optional)
1 teaspoon butter (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a deep, 2qt. covered microwave-safe glass container. Microwave on HIGH (maximum power) for 2 to 5 minutes (just until water comes to boil). Reduce the setting to 30% power, microwave for 45 minutes or until water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork.

RiceSelect™ Couscous

1 cup of uncooked Couscous
1 cup water
¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
2 teaspoon butter or margarine (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a deep, 2qt. covered microwave-safe container. Microwave on HIGH (maximum power) for 2 to 5 minutes (just until water comes to boil). Remove from the microwave and stir in the couscous. Cover tightly and let sit for 5 minutes. Fluff and serve.
